Banks that speak my language

Most large banks in France have customer service in French, but some also offer support in other languages such as English, German, and Spanish. Most new arrivals in France are not yet fluent in French and some also lack confidence to start navigating life in French, so we picked out some of the banks in France that offer customer service in more than one language:

It’s important to note that the availability of multilingual customer service may vary by location and may also depend on the type of banking services you are looking for. I would recommend contacting the bank directly to confirm their available services and languages.

As many banks are also moving away from “classic” customer service and are being replaced partially by chat agents or even AI, it opens more language options, so check your chosen bank before signing up as to which options they offer at that very moment! If you want to have all options at your disposal, we recommend you have a look at our article covering the ways you can learn French ????

Ps: remember, if you bank with a Neobank such as N26 or Revolut, these are foreign banks so you need to declare them in your taxes each year! Also consider that if you are from the EU, the bank you are already banking with may have branches in France. You could easily continue with your existing account without too much hassle.
